- Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete replaced 13 concrete mixer trucks with Kenworth W900S trucks fueled by CNG. "'We looked at what we wanted to accomplish — reduce our country's dependence on foreign oil, improve our company's environmental image by cleaning up emissions from our mixers and lower our fuel costs,' said Tim Ozinga, director of corporate communications for the four-generation, family-owned concrete company."
- Kenworth is offering the Cummins Westport ISX12 G heavy duty natural gas engine for use in regional haul, vocational and refuse markets. This new engine requires a single fuel source and can run on either CNG or LNG.
- General Motors added a factory-installed option for natural-gas bi-fuel versions of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD extended cab pickups. These vehicles will be powered by a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine that can run on CNG and gasoline. The pickups have a range of 650 miles.
